Are Bengal Cats Good with Kids?
Bengal cats are known for their wild ancestry and striking coats, but what about Bengals and children? It can be hard to know whether a particular cat will get along with kids, but there’s no reason why a Bengal should not be able to make an excellent family pet.
A Bit About the Breed
The Bengal is a hybrid breed of domestic cat created by crossing a domestic feline with the Asian Leopard Cat (ALC). This combination has resulted in some truly beautiful animals that possess both intelligence and personality. Though they might look exotic, Bengals are quite tame when raised properly – though they do require more attention than other breeds due to their active nature.
Are They Kid-Friendly?
Generally speaking, most Bengals get along well with children as long as they have been socialized from an early age. These cats tend to have high energy levels and need plenty of playtime – something that kids can provide in spades! They also often enjoy being around people who understand how best to interact with them. That said, it’s important to note that any animal could become aggressive if provoked or mistreated; so it’s always wise for parents or guardians to supervise children when playing or interacting with pets of any kind – including Bengals.
