A highly contagious viral infection which works to suppress the immune system. Cats may carry this disease without actually becoming infected by it. If untreated, this disease may be fatal, but many cats respond well to treatment.
Physical Symptoms
May not demonstrate symptoms for years. Abdominal tumors, anemia, swollen lymph nodes.
Cause/Transmission
Contact with infected cats, body fluids, feces, or food and water bowl.
Treatment
Consult your veterinarian. Symptoms may be treated but there is no cure.
