Rabies in Cats: Symptoms, Causes & Treatment

Also known as Hydrophobia, this disease affects the central nervous system and eventually leads to death.

Physical Symptoms

Lethargy, depression, loss of appetite. Later symptoms may include convulsions, paralysis, and death.

Cause/Transmission

Penetration of skin by infected saliva, usually through a bite.

Treatment

Consult your veterinarian. Generally affected animals are isolated or quarantined and may often be euthanized.
